I’m not going to read this. If it’s got frosting it’s a cupcake. No discussion needed!

Okay, so that wasn’t really the gist. I think baking is fun. (But, still no. 😊)

You know they make cookies with potato chips, perhaps that would be a perfect trail running snack! I remember your disdain for baking but I often wondered if it were the temptation of something sweet, I know that's my struggle cause I tend to take a spoon and clean up the batter, and lick the beaters, I probably have a serving before the baking commences. haha. (and the 2 a.m. nibbles)

Anyway I'm excited about your baking journey as now we have more to chat about as you know I'm quite the pie baker! This story is one of my favorites! Thanks for sharing!

I love this. First baking IS magic. If someone would have told me back when I was breaking beakers in high school chemistry that food, wine, spirits, and so much more is chemistry well jeez I certainly would not have chosen accounting (yay math).

A muffin with icing is a cupcake. It’s a law.

I started baking bread a few years ago (well past the lockdown surge) and I love my sourdough. I have to tend and feed her. I made my own proofing box so the start of tomorrow’s sourdough is in there now. It is fun, magic and delicious!!

Right???? So much magic!!!! What is the name of your sourdough? I keep wanting to start the sourdough journey but I am afraid it might end like my dog journey.... responsibility LOL :)

I had started my starter from a packet from breadtopia about 2+ years ago. Only reason I chose it is my attempts from scratch were “meh”. Still going strong. Made a beautiful sourdough boule this morning with glorious softness and crust.
